The Hookline Novel Competition unites serious  new writers with seriously
consuming readers.

Students and graduates of MA writing programmes submit the first three
chapters of their work, and reading groups must select the best writers.

These short-listed authors are asked to submit their complete manuscripts
for review.
Readers rate them on plot, character development, writing style and reader
satisfaction.

The Tartarus Machine
by Frank Kennedy

The story follows a demoted banker who plots revenge on his employers and is a timely
analysis of the banking crisis – with parallels in Greek mythology!
